This is the Play by Play podcast, hosted by myself, Jack McFarlane, and Nick Schlemmer. Nick Schlemmer 0:54 Hey guys, how's it going? Jack McFarlane 0:56 Well, we've got a very, very exciting episode today. If you are on YouTube watching, you can already see by my shirt I'm repping Team USA. Our new home kits, it is time for the World Cup, right? We are six days away from the official start and exactly seven days away from the US playing, so we are super excited, and we're a big celebration today. Nick Schlemmer 1:21 Yeah, Jack, like you mentioned, the World Cup starting up here soon, and I've got some interesting facts about the World Cup, Jack, that you may not know, or the listeners here not know. So, this year it is actually the largest World Cup in the history of the World Cup. It expanded from 32 teams to 48 teams. It's went from 104 matches instead of 64 as of last year, so a 62% increase. Jack McFarlane 1:48 Yeah, I mean, I'm all for it because I like to watch the World Cup, and that gives the US a better chance of advancing, because I think in most groups, if you're in the top three of four, you can advance, and arguably the US has the toughest group. I read something funny. I don't know if it's on your stats, but the gap between the US and I believe it's Paraguay who are like in the world rankings were like 17th and Paraguay is like 22nd but the gap between us and them is smaller than the gap between England and France, who are third and fourth, so that's going to show you how competitive our group is. There's a good chance, like on ESPN, it gives everyone in our group over a 50% chance to make it to the next stage. Mathematically, that should make sense. That just shows you how tight the US's group is. So we're hoping, hoping that we can come through. Nick Schlemmer 2:40 Yeah, I'm excited for it, and you know it's hosted, you know, some of the games are starting here right in Miami, so we're both not too far away now. Jack McFarlane 2:48 No, too bad. The one bad fact is it's the most expensive World Cup in history, and they did not hold good on their promises of ticket prices in 2018 When they won the bidding, the whole draw was we will sell all group stage tickets for $21 that did not happen. Cheapest ticket in Miami is like 400 bucks in the nosebleeds. So watching from home, sadly. Nick Schlemmer 3:11 Me as well. And Jack, I have one more thing that I want to mention about one of the teams, Curacao. Thank you. They're the smallest country to ever reach the tournament by population and land area, they're a nation of roughly 100 they only have 156,000 people in the whole nation. Jack McFarlane 3:30 Dang. Nick Schlemmer 3:31 We have that in half of a city, so they're competing against that's crazy, quote, they're competing against football giants. Jack McFarlane 3:41 Yeah, I mean, I could be on their team, for all we know, like I can't imagine they're that good. So, with that being said, we'll take a quick break. We've got a super fun episode long World Cup game time coming right up. Nick Schlemmer 3:56 Let's do it. Jack McFarlane 4:04 All right, we are back. I am so excited. I've been working on this game, this coding for this game, working with Gemini for weeks, trying to get it perfected and exactly right, and I think it's going to be a blast. So, there is some explanation needed? One, if you're listening, that's fantastic. Head over to the YouTube channel, HR Happy Hour Live. This is a very visual episode, right? You can definitely listen, there's nothing wrong with that, but you'll want to see it all right. Number two, this changes every time, so although I've run a bunch of tests, I don't know the outcomes. Nick does not know the outcomes. We are all together, hosts and listeners, gonna figure out who's gonna win the World Cup of business. So, let me give you a quick rundown here. This is for you as well, Nick. That way, everyone's on the same page. We have got eight teams playing. We've got like Amazon from the US, Shopify from Canada, LVMH from France, Ferrari from Italy, Sony from Japan, Samsung from South Korea, New Bank from Brazil, and Spotify from Sweden. Those are our World Cup teams, so we don't have 104 matches and 48 teams. It is much smaller here at the Play by Play. Oh, those are our teams. And if you're watching on the YouTube channel, which I hope you are now, you can see the odds next to the teams. We do have some betting odds, some favorites, some underdogs. So we're gonna go through. I'll let you have your first pick Nick, you're going to get to choose the four teams you want to root for, the ones you think you're going to win. So, I'm going to let you take it away. Nick Schlemmer 5:47 Let's do it. So, game one, we have Amazon versus Shopify. I like an underdog story. I'm going to go Shopify for my game one win. Jack McFarlane 5:56 Okay. Jack McFarlane 5:57 Giving me the US. I like it. Nick Schlemmer 5:58 Yep, I've given you the US. Game two in the European brackets. I'm gonna go with Ferrari in that one, and then game three, we have Sony and Samsung. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go Sony. I'm gonna take the underdog again, Sony in that one, and then we have New Bank and real Spotify. Let's do, let's do New Bank. We're taking three underdogs. Jack McFarlane 6:28 You got New Bank. Nick Schlemmer 6:29 According to the odds and one favorite. Jack McFarlane 6:32 I like it. Yeah, and just for those soccer listeners, it's Real, Real Spotify, Real, right? I don't know why they say like that, but like it's like Salt Lake or Real Madrid, so Real Spotify. Yeah, we've got some fun soccer names, um, and also for those watching, I'm gonna be looking down a lot, so you're gonna see my eyes just as in advance as looking down running this simulation, so that's a worth noting. So I get Amazon, LVMH, Samsung, and Spotify. Is that correct? Right? Nick Schlemmer 7:07 That's correct. Jack McFarlane 7:08 Yes. Okay. I've got my teams. I like my teams. I'm feeling so good. So, right now, go through, pick your teams. Think you know who do you think is going to win the whole thing? Do that in your mind. Keep track of it. Last thing before we start, and this is how it's going to work. So we're going to go match by match, and it's going to give us like events that are going to happen, a goal, a red card, a yellow card, and that is going to be based all around this business, right? There's a lot of factors that are in this game: there's company size, company technology advancements, brand likability, marketing, a bunch of different things that really go into how the simulation is going to decide what a quote unquote goal is, or what a card is. So, think of like goals as like a good thing. So, a goal might be like, you know, Amazon Prime two day shipping, or a yellow card would be like a bad thing, like, oh, your Shopify store is down, so those are just quick examples. We're going to get into it. I hope you've got your teams picked. What match are we going with first? Like, do you want to start just chronological, or you kind of want, like, you, what do you want to start with? Really, we can do whatever. I'm so excited. Nick Schlemmer 7:08 Let's start with Sony versus Samsung. Jack McFarlane 7:08 Okay, let's do it. Jack McFarlane 7:54 All right, and you'll hear me typing, you'll see me typing. This is all live. We do not know who's going to win, so I'm so fascinated. Okay, here's our pre-match, where it's going to show us some, you know, the good players, right? These are like executives of the company, so yeah, yeah, some of these are going to be hard to pronounce. You're gonna have to stay with us. Hiroki is the CEO of Sony. He's a player for this is the Japan team, Sony, Hiroki, and we've got Kenji, who is also the president and CEO of Sony. They have two CEOs, so they're a big company. Yeah, and then for Samsung, we've got Dr. T M Rowe, he is the president, CEO. CEO, and Head of Development. Then you've also got Jung Young Human. I'm sure I said that wrong. I'm so sorry if you are, you know, a Samsung worker and you know how to pronounce that. He's the Vice Chairman and Head of Device Solutions. So those are our key players in this matchup. Are we ready, Nick? Shall we kick it already? Nick Schlemmer 9:23 Let's kick it off the first match. Jack McFarlane 9:25 Let's do it first action. It's so suspenseful. What is gonna.. I don't know. Okay. First action is a goal for Samsung. 22 minutes in, that's that's my team right there. I'm rooting for Samsung. This is fantastic. Here, I'll read it out for those that can't see this, and they're listening, but we've got Ro capitalizing on a beautiful setup play as Samsung's global mobile division unlocks a blindingly fast AI power hardware upgrade cycle, and it just tears through Sony's midfield, and they get the goal, so that is fantastic, 1-0 in the way of Samsung right now. Nick Schlemmer 10:05 I'm feeling good, I'm feeling good. Jack McFarlane 10:07 Oh no, it's a goal, it's a goal for Sony. Take it away, I'm gonna let you, I'm gonna let you take it away. What happened here? Nick Schlemmer 10:14 Goal for Sony from our midfielder, Kenji, a sensational equalizer, the corporate breakthrough, Kenji masterfully orchestras a counter attack, capitalizing on high demand surge for advanced image sensors on PlayStation ecosystem dominance. Interesting, but a great way to score a goal, and I love how it ties because business things to how the goals. Jack McFarlane 10:39 That was like, yeah, so that's kind of the fun of this, is like all the good things that a business does, that's going to be the goal, and maybe we'll get a card this game, I'm not sure, it's not, you know, not always happening, but let's move on, that was 41 minutes, and it's one to one, decide one to one high game so far, come on, come on, Samsung, a yellow card, oh no, no, the Samsung yellow card, I'm gonna take it away. Here we got Mr. Jung commits a heavy tactical foul to stop a dangerous breakout scramble. This was to recover after an aggressive Sony Entertainment Media push, catches Samsung semiconductor defensive line completely exposed. So Samsung with their big entertainment push, think Spider-Man, right, or not same, some Sony with their entertainment push, you know, like Spider-Man, that's what I think of with Sony. Yep, we had to, we had to stop you, we had to get a hard tackle. I'm sorry, but that's part of the game, part of the game. So, you know, also, ref, are you blind? That was not a foul, come on in the 83rd minute, minute. This is getting close. Samsung again with a goal. Ro capitalizes beautifully as Samsung deploys an intense, heavily funded flash memory manufacturing line. Fantastic job. I'm gonna clap it up for Samsung. Never say never, but it's looking over, and it's looking like my squad is going to take the first game. Let's see, is anything about to happen? Not much. We do have a yellow card Nick Schlemmer 12:09 on Sony. Jack McFarlane 12:12 Sony, what? What happened, Nick? What happened with your boys? Nick Schlemmer 12:15 Oh, Stryker Hiroki to Toki receives a late yellow card, leaves his feet for an aggressive, frustrated slide, challenging in stoppage time, desperately trying to break up a clock-killing possession led by Samsung's mobile division. All right. Jack McFarlane 12:36 Let's go. That's full time, it's a two one win, as you know, Samsung, my boys, we get it done, so that's match one done. Let's go back to the back to the bracket here and continue on. So, as you can see, we've got Samsung moving on. Let's go to the Americas. Let's do the American bracket. We're gonna go to match one, Amazon versus Shopify. This a big one, so I'm Team USA here. Let's do it. All right, gosh, this is like so suspenseful. I love it's really like I don't know what's gonna happen. Okay, hang with us. It's going to match too. So Gemini is deciding, nope, we're going to actually start with France versus Italy, so we're just gonna go with it, because I don't want to, you know, break my coding too much here. Let's start it off. We've got LVMH from France versus Ferrari from Italy. You've got Ferrari, I've got LVMH. Oh, it is totally. I've never seen this, as you can see, it is it, it's giving match one history. Whoa, okay, hold on a second, guys. This is why you know this is live. We have to scroll on this one. It's not going to be as suspenseful. Do you see this match one history? Here's a timeline. Oh gosh, so we're just going to scroll through. So forget the forget Italy and France. This is America, Canada. Let's see what happens. First 18 minutes in Amazon with Nick Schlemmer 14:08 Goal Amazon. Jack McFarlane 14:09 Andy Jansen hits a clear opener after AWS cloud server distribution lane to open up a perfect lane. So, good job. Our cloud distribution fantastic. Moving on, another goal for Amazon, it's two nil, Andy Jan See, Andy Jassy again for tracking down a rapid counter attack driven by Prime shipping logistics. I mean, you knew it was going to come in to play here, that might be the most efficient thing in the whole tournament, is Prime. I love it. Moving on, a yellow card in the 61st from Jeff Bezos. Oh my gosh, heavy tackle breaking up an independent merchant advance. Jeff Bezos take down the merchants. Okay, geez, Jeff, come on, competitors. Oh, and Nick Schlemmer 14:56 Shopify with a goal Jack McFarlane 14:58 Into the 70th minutes. Shopify, what happens? Shopify scores. Nick Schlemmer 15:03 Toby pulls, pulls one back with a brilliant individual run, utilizing upgraded mobile checkout flows. Jack McFarlane 15:11 Wow. Nick Schlemmer 15:11 Everybody is using Shopify nowadays for their online business. Jack McFarlane 15:15 Yes, they are. It's huge. So, I mean, good for them. Checkout flows. I hope to not see another a yellow card. It's not looking good. 90, it's in stoppage time too. Two minutes stoppage time. Nick, what happened to Harley? Nick Schlemmer 15:33 He received a card for a desperate tactical foul to halt a late breakaway. That means Amazon is about to score. Jack McFarlane 15:40 I think Amazon, Amazon, okay, Amazon, like, is probably the favorite to win the whole tournament, to be fair. So that is not a shocking score line, but 2-1 for Amazon, they do move on. Okay, now we're getting back into, meanwhile, on pitch two for match two. Let's start off this match now. So that was kind of scuffed. I'm sorry, it's not perfect, but still suspenseful. Amazon moves on. Let's get into this match. Okay, here we go properly. Match number three, France versus Italy. All right. First thing, Ferrari, Nick, what happened? Nick Schlemmer 16:22 Goal right away, Bendetto Vigna breaks the deadlock with a clinical finish. Corporate breakthrough, Vigna completely blows past the LVMH midfield, utilizing utilizing Ferrari's ultra premium V 12 internal combustion engineering to blow past the defense, the maximum velocity. You just can't hang with the Ferrari, is what it sounds like. Jack McFarlane 16:48 I mean, I mean, yeah, their speed, right? Ferrari has speed, and that's what they're showcasing here today against LVMH. I mean, a V 12, yeah, we're not keeping up with that. What a breakaway for Ferrari, they go up one nil in the 34th minute. Let's see what happens next. Come on, France. Oh, that's what we like to see. Strike back, LVMH athletic strikes back. We equalize Bernard. Bernard is our savior today. He steps up and weaves through the defense, capitalizing on a massive global demand surge for ultra high end fashion houses and high margin champagne vintages. This is fantastic. We're providing that luxury. We're very fancy. He's very, you know, his footwork is just top notch. You know, we might not have this speed, but we have the skill, you know, that's able to equalize their wonder skill here. What's gonna happen next? Oh a yellow card, 74th minute. This is for LVMH Pietro. Come on, Pietro, we got to be better than that. He has a quack, a clinical tactical foul to disrupt a massive Ferrari counter attack. So once again, Ferrari, with their speed, you know, we have to just, we have to take the card. It would have surely been a goal for Ferrari if we didn't. Moving on, now I'm nervous. Ferrari is pretty quick. Oh, late winner. Nick Schlemmer 18:14 What is that? 93rd minute. Jack McFarlane 18:19 Oh no, Vendetta again, time goal. Nick Schlemmer 18:22 A dramatic late win stop or goal. He completely deeks the keeper, capitalizing on a false delivery from center back John Elkin. Ferrari's massive engineering shift into next generation hybrid power units unlocks a crucial tactical lane that they just cannot trap. Jack McFarlane 18:43 Oh my gosh. Nick Schlemmer 18:44 They're diving into Jack McFarlane 18:45 I mean Ferrari had us. Nick Schlemmer 18:47 hybrid Ferraris. Ferrari is making evolutions. Jack McFarlane 18:51 Wow, wow, the hybrid Ferrari just proves to be too much for LVMH, and you're on the board. Nick Schlemmer 18:59 I'm on the board. Jack McFarlane 19:00 You're on the board. Nick Schlemmer 19:02 Remember last first round match. Jack McFarlane 19:05 I'm a little afraid. I gotta be honest. Um, let me see if I can bracket brackets, uh, advance Amazon. Um, Amazon on the bracket. Don't you just love the.. I mean, we're doing this live. This is actually the first time we've ever done anything like this, so as you can see, there's, you know, okay, there we go, it's got it, got it updated, we're back on track, one more to go, match four, boom, here we go, match number four, right now, I've got two teams advancing, Nick's had one, and you are for New Bank in Brazil, correct? Is that who you're going for? Nick Schlemmer 19:43 That is who I have. You have Spotify. Jack McFarlane 19:45 All right. Well, it looks like a great start for you. New Bank Brazil with a goal man. What is happening? How did they score? Nick Schlemmer 19:52 They did the lease Belize had a clinical finish. Caps off a blistering sequence. New Bank unleashes an explosive expansion wave across Latin America, leveraging zero fee digital checking pipelines to completely bypass Spotify's midfield and score a goal. Jack McFarlane 20:13 Wow, I mean, yeah, that's that's a big move all across Latin America. Zero fee digital checking, it's hard to stop, you know. Nick Schlemmer 20:20 Everybody loves zero fees. Jack McFarlane 20:23 Right? Exactly. I mean, we actually, some people were to argue that Spotify charges too much for some of their things, so I can see why you're able to get past this. There, let's see if Spotify can answer back. Come on, Real Spotify, let's do it. Oh, and they can, Daniel Eck, wow, fantastic. A clinical finish levels the score, converting a lightning-fast transition after Spotify deploys massive personalization upgrades to its algorithm discovery feeds, finding a gap in new banks' high-growth defense line. So that's things like your AI DJ getting very personalized here for Spotify. Great job, boys! Come on, great job! Nick Schlemmer 21:00 I love that. I love the Spotify DJ. I don't know, Jack, if you've used it, but it's actually really good. Oh man, another Spotify goal. Jack McFarlane 21:09 We need two Spotify DJs or something, because Spotify scores again. We take the lead in the 63rd That converts a brilliant attacking sequence. Spotify leverages a highly successful monetization push across its massive global premium subscriber base. Fantastic, we're boosting those premium subscribers, you know, family accounts, stuff like that. Great job, Spotify, it's looking good. 63 minutes. And what do you think is going to happen next, Nick? You got a prediction before we type it in here? Nick Schlemmer 21:36 63 minutes. I think I think New Bank is about to get a yellow card, maybe a red card, because they're getting a little frustrated. Jack McFarlane 21:44 Oh no, getting frustrated. Let's see what happens. Spotify the underdogs at plus 100 in the 81st that is almost going to do it. And it was off a set piece. Spotify scales its global audio book distribution network and video podcasting strategy completely overloading New Banks' defensive length and sealing control the match. I mean, it's only right. We are the Play by Play podcasts. It's only right that podcasting has an effect on this World Cup of business. Nick Schlemmer 22:16 It only makes sense. It only makes sense. Jack McFarlane 22:18 I'm thinking that is going to be it, I can't imagine much more. Maybe a late push. Yep, that's going to do it. A yellow card does come from Real Spotify. What are we doing? How are you going to pick up a booking that late in the match? Let's see, he's caught pulling up a jersey to stop a late break, dragging down an attacker. His new big attempts, a desperate final push with their high-yield savings product. So, I mean, that's a great effort, that's always a great push. I guess we had to go for the booking. I mean, a goal wouldn't have done much, but yeah. Nick Schlemmer 22:49 We are all trying to stop people from investing in those high-field savings accounts. Jack McFarlane 22:52 Yeah, I'm sorry, guys, we had to bring it with the audiobooks and the podcasting and the DJ. That wraps up our final semi finals. Nick Schlemmer 23:00 We've got semifinals. Jack McFarlane 23:02 Amazon versus Ferrari, Samsung versus Real Spotify, so we've got the US versus Italy and South Korea versus Sweden. I've got three teams through Nick has one. Nick Schlemmer 23:13 I'm riding out Ferraris, Ferrari's horsepower. Jack McFarlane 23:17 Yeah, I mean they might be the best team in here, just with that speed alone. Here we go, start semi one, boom. Let's see what happens. Let's see what happens. I hope your guys' teams are still in it all right. Here we go. Ferrari versus Amazon. This could be the matchup winner. This could win the whole thing. First goal goes to Amazon in the 19. It's it's Andy Jassy again takes advantage of an overlapping run, capitalizing on a massive, highly profitable expansion wave across AWS Enterprise Cloud, cloud our architecture markets, that is a mouthful. Amazon kind of seems like we were doing a little bit too much, maybe we had a couple extra passes trying to get too fancy, still got it to go, though. So great job. Nick Schlemmer 24:02 But they found a way to the back of the net. Jack McFarlane 24:04 Found a way. My, I'm afraid that that might come back to bite us. I feel like we might be doing a little bit too much, you know. We maybe need to keep it simpler, like Ferrari. They're not, they're gonna keep you guys are gonna keep it simple. You're just so fast, you're gonna run past everyone. Let's see what I see. All right. Oh, Ferrari, take it away, Nick. Nick Schlemmer 24:22 Ferrari Stryker Bendetto again hammers home a spectacular equalizer just before the break. Benedetto completely shifts gears. Ferrari leans heavily into an ultra-exclusive record-breaking wait list for their latest limited edition, another hybrid hypercar. Jack McFarlane 24:40 Wow, wow, tough to stop. I mean, a hyper car. Nick Schlemmer 24:45 Tearing through Amazon's automated logistic defensive line. Jack McFarlane 24:50 Oh, we have no chance. See what I'm saying? That's what I'm worried about. I'm very nervous, like Ferrari, and you're in it. Ferrari in Italy, speed, man, it's tough, but that's. Going to probably do it for halftime, where we're going to jump into the second half. I'm guessing here. Let's see. Yes, we are Amazon in the USA take the lead once again. It's Jassy again. He might be the player of the tournament so far. It's just been political. He's that's his fourth goal. Jassy cleans up a brilliant rebound, capitalizing on a massive surge in private subscription revenue and optimized regional distribution networks. We're bringing those same day delivery distribution warehouses to a city near you, and we're scoring with it. The relentless automated operational efficiency of the attack physically overloads Ferrari's hand-built defensive line. That's that's kind of their problem. They're really quick on attack, but in defense it can take a lot of time, you know. Nick Schlemmer 25:47 It takes a long time to produce a Ferrari. Jack McFarlane 25:49 It takes a long time. Exactly, that maybe is the weakness that Amazon can exploit. Nick Schlemmer 25:54 We don't have two day Ferrari builds. Jack McFarlane 25:57 That's true. That's true. Oh no. Nick Schlemmer 25:59 We tied it. Jack McFarlane 26:00 Take it away, take it away. Nick Schlemmer 26:03 John Elkin goes up for a late corner kicks and headers it home. Elkin rising above the defensive matches, Ferrari's aggressive new push into high luxury lifestyle branding and high performance engineering collaborations. The sheer brand equity power of the Italian prancing horse can't catches Amazon standard retail lines off guard. Oh, we're going back to the handcrafted versus Amazon. Jack McFarlane 26:32 Very large standard. Nick Schlemmer 26:32 Standard .retail lines. Jack McFarlane 26:35 Yeah, I mean, Ferrari isn't nice to the Amazon Basic. Gosh, wow. All right. This is going to determine it, this right here. Nick Schlemmer 26:45 In the 84th minute. Jack McFarlane 26:46 Who's gonna win it? Who's gonna win it? Jack McFarlane 26:51 Oh, Amazon and stoppage time. Andy again. This guy is the MVP. Andy finds an extra gear in the dying seconds. Amazon deploys its next-generation automated drone delivery service and its AI-driven fulfillment protocols, carrying a hyper-effective route directly through Ferrari's exhausted luxury defense to secure the match. So, in the end, the slow defense and the luxury is what's going to cost you? Ferrari might be fast on the breakaway, but Amazon is fast throughout the process, and I think that showed in this match when utilizing their system. Nick Schlemmer 27:31 Amazon's using land and sky. Ferrari cannot fly. Jack McFarlane 27:34 Yes, yeah. Oh, wow, that needs to be on a T-shirt. I feel like, as Amazon advances to the World Cup of business final, and this next match, I mean, it's two dogs from the same trainer. It is, it is my teams, but we're gonna switch, I think. You know, whoever wins this, I'm gonna let you decide when it comes to the final, Nick, who you want to take over, asides from. So, let's just see what happens here in semifinal number two, we've got South Korea versus Sweden, Shopify or Samsung. First thing that happens, you take it away for Samsung, control Spotify this game. Nick Schlemmer 28:13 Okay, Samsung with the goal, striker Jay Lee breaks the defense line to score. Lee capitalizes on a massive surge in global demand for ultra high density, high bandwidth memory chips, completely overwhelming Spotify's midfield tracking and blasting the shot past the goalkeeper. Jack McFarlane 28:33 Wow, clinical, clinical, I mean, they're just too much to handle. There's just so much bandwidth memory that we, yeah, Real Spotify, we couldn't do it, you know, we're used to just, you know, next and skip and pause, so we just, yeah, couldn't do it. Let's see what happens next. All right, Spotify equals it up in the 44th right before half. Daniel Eck, Eck works a quick give and go on the edge of the box. Spotify rolls out its advanced AI-driven contextual music and smart audio generation feeds, creating a hyper-targeted attack lane that slices directly through Samsung's heavy hardware defense. So, yeah, we were able to get very personal, squeeze through that super strong defense, and find an equalizer. So, I like it. I like it. One to one. Moving on, moving on, one to one, Samsung fire saw this happen. Nick Schlemmer 29:26 Oh, here we go with the name Han Jeong He. He orchestrates a flawless sequence. Samsung capitalizes on a massive global sales volume for its premium OLED display and AI integrated consumer electronic ecosystem. Jack McFarlane 29:44 Wow. Nick Schlemmer 29:45 Hard to deal with their premium OLED display, and when you tie in AI, it's hard to play. Jack McFarlane 29:51 Right? Not even mad. And this in it, this ain't age, AI is everywhere, right? It's, it's hard to, hard to stop that. That's that's a good attack from from Samsung. There moving on, it's got to be getting close to the end here. 83rd minute, oh Samsung again. Nick Schlemmer 30:06 Goal for Samsung in the 83rd minute. Jay Lee seals the sequence beautifully. Samsung scales its cutting edge three nanometer foundry manufacturing capacity to win a massive next-gen chip fabrication contract, they gain the edge with a new contract for their chips. Jack McFarlane 30:28 Wow, yeah, can't beat that. It overpowers by its formation. He's not the right, you know, that's on the coach. I feel like that's just the no going up against Samsung. They're going to have cloud-hosted defense formation, that's unbelievable. That you know the whole country of Sweden is going to be let down by that call from the manager. So, yeah, that's going to do it here, three to one. Maybe there's a late card. Let's see, late card, Samsung FCO card on Sam. They're going to win it, though. Let's see, he breaks up a counter attack. Yep, classic. Just didn't want us to score, so we've got our official World Cup of business final. I am so excited. I'm gonna let you choose who you want to root for, Nick. Just remember, I have the USA jersey on. If that sways you in anyway, I will take Samsung. You're gonna take Samsung. Nick Schlemmer 31:19 All right, Samsung versus Amazon. Jack McFarlane 31:22 We've got the US versus South Korea. These are massive companies. I am so excited. Nick Schlemmer 31:30 And Samsung is the underdog in this game. Jack McFarlane 31:33 Let's say kick off. Yep, US is favored. Let's see what happens. Oh my gosh, oh, I.. it faked me out. It was just the start of the game. Minute zero. Here we go, for real. This time we've kicked off. Now we're playing. What's gonna happen? 24th minute, Amazon, and the 24th for the US. We're gonna take an early lead of one nothing. Andy Jan, if he has to be the player of the tournament, has to be Advancing Jassy. You're so right, you're so right. I'm getting too excited. I can't even read anymore. He orchestrates a stunning tactical buildup. Amazon deploys massive regional logistic hub optimizations alongside next generation AI automation across its global fulfillment network. The hyper effective movement completely bypasses Samsung's hardware heavy defensive tracking to slot the home opener. Yeah, because I guess we'd be the home team. It is in America, so home team scores first. We were able to just get right past Samsung, you know? That was there, if you remember, in the last match they had a problem with their, their hardware-heavy defense. Maybe that's where Amazon, whenever you wait. Nick Schlemmer 32:36 Whenever you optimize things, it's hard to play, right? Jack McFarlane 32:39 We're able to break through. Let's, let's see what happens here, and our next action. Nick Schlemmer 32:45 Goal for Samsung. Mr. Jay Lee again, Lee shifts gears efforts effortlessly. Samsung capitalizes on an explosive, record-breaking global demand cycle in its three nanometer foundry nodes in high bandwidth chips, the sheer engineering momentum and structural chip supply leverages and slices straight through Amazon's cloud defense again. Jack McFarlane 33:11 Let's look at that same thing as last game, as last as last game. You know, how does Amazon not learn from Sweden and Spotify that you can't use the cloud-based defense on Samsung, South Korea, they use the same tactic here that they did last match, using that three nanometer, you know, those nodes, they can make it so small, and they just slice right through, so I mean, that's that's on the manager, you know. Nick Schlemmer 33:35 And we're tied. Jack McFarlane 33:36 Jeff Bezos, I know you're your player manager, like, what are we doing, no cloud defense against these guys, no. Nick Schlemmer 33:42 Goal for Samsung. Mr. He again. Han orchestrates a brilliant counter offense. Samsung aggressively expands its highly integrated Galaxy AI mobile ecosystem and phones for their hardware devices worldwide. This massive consumer footprint forms the synchronized technical tactical press that catches Amazon's online marketplace completely out of position. Jack McFarlane 34:12 Oh, that's brutal. I mean, that's a.. there's AI again, you know. It seems like the biggest factors in this tournament, in this World Cup, have been the use of new AI's. Nick Schlemmer 34:21 Has been the use of AI. Jack McFarlane 34:22 We just, just got to hope Amazon can equalize here. What's gonna happen? Come on, US. Nick Schlemmer 34:29 Goal for Amazon. Jack McFarlane 34:30 It has happened in the 81st minute. We are tied. Andy Jassy again, who else? He pulls off a massive counter move. Amazon leans heavily into its highly lucrative B2B enterprise software scaling and a major multi billion dollar infrastructure expansion for AWS cloud computing services. The sheer cash flow and and compute capacity and compute compute capacity. I am losing my words. I'm so excited. The cash flow, the computer capacity of this cloud push was able to overwhelm the tactical surge of Samsung FC. We are tied. I mean, look at this tight play to advance to the final whistle and crown the champion. Can it get any better than this? Amazon Sam, it's gonna come down to the last thing, man. Here we go. Are you ready, Nick? I'm feeling a yellow card, but I'm ready. All right. Oh gosh, here we go. What is gonna happen? Come on, US, come on, US. Oh no. Nick Schlemmer 35:31 Samsung in the 94th minute to take the championship? Who else but mr. Lee? With seconds left on the clock, Samsung unleashes its ultimate strategic reserve, a complete global vertical monopoly on custom ASIC accelerator chips and next generation storage, and that takes the cake, pushes through Amazon's cloud infrastructure again. There is a cloud defense in the end. Jack McFarlane 36:03 The defense, it was the cloud defense in the end. You know, we talked about it before this match, saying that that was Sweden's downfall, and the US just couldn't learn, man. Coming up just short, and in our champion is South Korea, and Samsung FC, the World Cup of Business, wow. Nick Schlemmer 36:20 World Cup of Business champions. Jack McFarlane 36:24 Wow, I'm gonna have to take a minute to digest this. You know, we're gonna take a quick break. We're gonna come back and with quote of the show, and you know, congratulations to our champions of Samsung and South Korea. We'll be right back. Nick Schlemmer 36:43 Alrighty, everyone, we are back with the quote of the show. Jack, that was a fun time doing the corporate World Cup. Jack McFarlane 36:53 Yes, the World Cup of business. Nick Schlemmer 36:55 The World Cup of business. Jack McFarlane 36:57 You know, I was, I was rooting for my boys, the US had the jersey on, just kind of get it done. Congrats again, South Korea and Samsung. I mean, absolutely brilliant. Nick Schlemmer 37:06 Congrats to Samsung. And with that, I have a special quote today from Martin Haques, and this quote ties just directly about the World Cup in itself. He said, and I quote, the World Cup is not just a great global sporting event. It is also inscribed with much deeper cultural and political importance. Just a great little notch there too. It really is. Jack McFarlane 37:32 Yeah, and, and you know, fun. I don't know, this is such a fun fact, but like on the political side of things, there is a war that was started from a World Cup qualifying match. I want to say it was like Ecuador and gosh, Paraguay. Maybe I'm playing off. Look that up. It is fascinating. It is fascinating. They were so intense at the World Cup, like it was to qualify for one of the World Cups. They actually started a war for like 30 hours or something, so very fascinating. There fantastic quote. We hope you guys enjoyed. We hope you were able to play along. We hope that you picked South Korea to win, because then you guys would be the ultimate winners. I think you deserve some sort of prize if you did. Go over to the YouTube channel, comment down on it, and we would just love to know who you picked, what you thought was, you know, the best part of the tournament here, and we just really hope you enjoyed and had some fun with us. Nick Schlemmer 38:27 Yes, thank you everyone for tuning in. And bye for now. Transcribed by https://otter.ai
