About this episode
In this episode, Steve examines how the first year of the second Trump administration has reshaped the climate for work and workers in the United States. Looking beyond headlines and politics, we examine what Year One has meant from the worker’s perspective.
With unemployment still relatively low but white-collar job insecurity rising, the balance of power between employers and employees has shifted in noticeable ways. Return-to-office mandates, persistent corporate layoffs, a retreat from public DEI commitments, and changes in regulatory posture have all combined to create a workplace environment that feels less certain and less safe for many employees.
